I am a cancer biologist and proteomics researcher with more than ten years of experience in translational cancer research, radiation biology, liver diseases, and OMICS-based biomarker discovery. I am currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the
department of MD Anderson, Integrated Services Unit (MDOISU), Cancer Research, South Texas Center of Excellence in Cancer Research (ST-CECR), The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV), where my research focuses on identifying molecular mechanisms and biomarkers associated with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), stress signaling, and long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), and Alzheimer disease (AD) using integrated proteomic and genomic approaches. I received my Ph.D. training at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS), New Delhi, and have held competitive postdoctoral and research positions at internationally recognized institutions, including The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, where I worked in the Department of Clinical Cancer Prevention. I was also awarded the National Post-Doctoral Fellowship (SERB-DST, Government of India) as Principal Investigator, leading an independent research project focused on proteomics-based identification of non-invasive biomarkers for drug-induced liver injury (DILI).
My expertise includes high-throughput LC-MS/MS proteomics (DIA-SWATH, TMT/iTRAQ labeling), biomarker validation, cancer cell biology, flow cytometry, and animal models, including xenograft and orthotopic mouse models. I have authored multiple peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals such as Hepatology, Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Alimentary Pharmacology & Therapeutics, Cancers, Scientific Reports and Pharmacology Research, with over 700 citations. My research contributions have been recognized through several national and international awards, including the Young Investigator Award (APASL), Senior Investigator-in-Training Award (Radiation Research Society), and Best Poster Presentation Award (UTRGV).
My long-term research goal is to advance precision oncology and liver disease diagnostics by integrating proteomics and transcriptomics to identify clinically actionable biomarkers and therapeutic targets. My training, leadership as a funded investigator, and interdisciplinary expertise position me well to contribute meaningfully to NIH-funded translational and cancer health disparities research.
